New Blog Introduction
Hi, my name is Ashley. I am a software developer and tech enthusiast. Welcome, and I hope you join me on my journey.
This is pretty much a re-post of my first introductory post I made on WordPress maybe a month ago. But I figured I need to introduce myself here as well.
I will probably spend a few days republishing the few posts I made on WordPress before I make my next actual post.
Why am I here?
I want to share my knowledge with others, and I hope to learn and grow through this experience. Being in the IT industry means facing constant change. Which means there is always more to learn.
Why am I starting out now?
I have been wanting to create content for a little while but I wasn’t sure what or how? There are two main reason why now.
Firstly, through a web authoring course, I am getting to play around with WordPress and I thought the idea of a blog sounded neat. The whole WP CMS experience seem pretty good. As you can see I am now partially migrating to hashnode after being exposed a whole bunch of great blogs through dev.daily.
Secondly, I’ve recently convinced my wife to start learning programming, Java specifically as that’s what I use in my full time job. I thought it would be a good way to make some content on things she asks me during her learning and my explanations of those things. I see this as potentially beneficial to other beginners in programming.
There is also a third reason, but I will reserve that for it’s own blog post.
Blog Topics?
I’d like to cover a few different tech related topics, but I don’t want to stretch myself thin. I will stick with Java and some software development concepts and throw in some SQL related stuff. And perhaps share some opinions on tech and do some product reviews. I’d like to aim for at least 1 post per week, 2 if things are going well.
If I blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?
Well hopefully I am still doing this in a years time. If I am, then I hope the quality of my posts has improved. And that I am covering more topics. And perhaps posting more than once a week.
